I’ve been reading about the counterfeit Wii by China for a few days now and finally Engadget provides a nice clear shot of the actual product called the Vii. There is no word yet through any of the posts what exactly the similarities are to the Wii besides the similar looks of the console and remote. I’m almost positive most countries, if it indeed was a Wii knock-off wouldn’t allow them imported into their countries due to copyright and trade infringements.
Either way, how much cheaper could the Vii be? Who would develop games for it? Did someone extract and duplicate the original Wii system? Could you play Wii games on it? Many questions definitely left unanswered. I will follow up when I hear something else about it. We can be sure though that they won’t provide the amazing support and updates that Nintendo does.
