Well, that was quick. Only 4 hours later and the mystery of the 4 is over. I got 1 of the 4 right… A New Blackberry… Also confirms no new WM6 PDA yet. All 3 besides the Pearl will most likely be running off of Verizon’s mobile OS. Those bastards! Thanks Engadget Mobile for ruining the surprise/disappointment!
Apparently due to launch in a couple of weeks, Verizon is prepping a phone blitz of fairly epic proportions. The new Samsung Juke, BlackBerry Pearl, LG Venus and LG Voyager are due for simultaneous arrival on the market, and are sure to turn heads. On the far left is the “Juke,” Verizon’s name for that U470 we spotted a couple weeks ago, which is supposed to arrive with 2GB of storage, A2DP Bluetooth and a 1.3 megapixel camera. Next up is the “new variety” Pearl rumored since August, with a 2 megapixel camera, A2DP and a 3.5mm audio jack. One to the right is the dual screen “Venus” slider, also known as the LG VX8800. The phone rocks miniSD expansion, A2DP, a 2 megapixel camera and some interesting touchscreen capabilities, including vibration feedback. Finally we have the beast of the bunch on the far right, the LG Voyager, also known as the VX10000. The phone sports a large external touchscreen, along with a lateral-clamshell form factor that opens up into a QWERTY keyboard and another well-sized screen, both screens are QVGA. Verizon is bragging of a full HTML browser, along with the expected microSD expansion, 2 megapixel camera, A2DP and some built-in stereo speakers.
Verizon’s Juke, Pearl, Venus and Voyager get outed (Engadget Mobile)
Hi, I’m new at this. I’ve been waiting for a new VZW PDA phone and really liked what I heard abt the XV6800 aka Mogul. Are these “next” phones like the Voyager supposed to be VZW’s new PDA generation? (I need Windows Mobile OS, not a Blackberry) Lately it seems like the XV6800 buzz has stopped - does that mean that product is dead? Thanks
RandyB, as for the XV6800, one can never be too sure. The Voyager is definitely not Verizon’s new PDA, they’re definitely touting it as a phone I’m in agreement with you though, I think we just need to wait a month longer for the Windows Mobile 6 PDA’s to hit Verizon.
Thanks Adam. I was at VZW last Friday and the CSR said the XV6800 is on their list of new phones but without a date. He seemed credible and showed me his XV6700 and said he was waiting for the 6800 too, so hopefully he was shooting straight. Best regards,
