I Make Use Of: Microsoft Live Writer Beta

Live Writer

I have been using Microsoft’s Live Writer (Beta) for over 2 months now and I love it. My main reason that I probably use it for is that it’s not web-based. This allows me to work whenever I want on it, without browsing from one site to the other and fears of losing any information (WLW saves drafts just like MS Word). My other main reason for using it is that it allows me to publish to 2 blogs at the same time, with minimal steps

My favorite aspects and features:

  • Screenshot for Live Writer So Easy to use and Setup
  • Easily publish to any of my blogs from the same window
  • Offline and on my Desktop
  • Configures Automatically to your blogs settings (HTML and CSS)
  • Plugins (like Insert Flickr pictures)
  • Pinging Services included

Features Requests (or what I would want in the non-Beta version):

  • Sync Over Computers (between work and home, my Drafts and recently posted aren’t the same)
  • Publish to 2 blogs at the same time (right now I just switch, change category and publish, but I’m lazy).

NewsGator Brings Feed Reading to Facebook

In case you’re wondering, it doesn’t work yet (as of now), but I’m excited. As I said previously, I use FeedDemon (Desktop and Mobile), which synchronizes to the web. So this is great and hopefully will be a way to share the blogging and news that I read with my friends.

NewsGator is launching a Facebook application called NewsFriends. This works as a way to share feeds with your networks on Facebook. NewsGator Brings Feed Reading to Facebook

Wasted stranger dude: Happy biiirthday, dear whoever-the-fuck-you-are!–C train

Bimbette: Look, it’s not like I mind tall, dark, and handsome, but it’s like, ‘Look at me — I’m hot… I should be able to nab a nerd.’
Friend: Nerds aren’t like shoes — you can’t just try them on for size. They have feelings, too.
Bimbette: And glasses.–34th & Lex

Tourist: Could you give us directions to Olive Garden?
NYer: No, but I could give you directions to an actual Italian restaurant.–23th & 5th

Super C, Breath of Fire II, Ghouls’n Ghosts now on Wii VC

Note the change in the “Cheat Code” for Super C… I’m excited!

wii vdA trio of sequels lands on Wii Virtual Console today:
-Super C (NES, 1-2 players, 500 Wii Points): “C” stands for Contra in this sequel to, um, Contra. Don’t forget, Konami swtiched up the Code — it’s now: right, left, down, up, A, B (10 extra lives, not 30).
-Breath of Fire II (SNES, 1 player, 800 Wii Points): Arguably the high point in Capcom’s JRPG series, this sequel is a respected 16-bit era adventure about an orphan dude and his dog-faced pal. Trust us, it’s a decent storyline.
-Ghouls’n Ghosts (Genesis, 1 player, 800 Wii Points): The sequel to the most irritatingly difficult side-scroller ever (EVAR!). Capcom toned down the difficulty, but not by much…
