Flash Earth might come in handy, I suppose, for certain situations when you really want to see the most recent updates of Satellite Imagery. By comparing the map engines, I realized that by tracking a New Development Building at 215 East 96th Street, NYC (Handy tool allows you to “Link to This Location”… ), that has been up for at least a year, I can tell which mapping service is the most Up To Date. Here are the Results:
- Microsoft (Building is almost complete)
- Google (Building is just a hole)
- Yahoo (parking lot hasn’t been there since 2003)
Ask.com, Open Layers and NASA Terra, all didn’t have any satellite imagery for the Upper East Side of New York City… Idiots…
