How to Beat Carnival Games – Tricks and Tips

Speaking of Wii’s Carnival Games, Blifaloo has released a “How to Beat Carnival Games” post. Totally not for the Wii, but it can’t hurt to try… Here’s a sample below, this one makes you go… Doh!

Shoot out the Star:

In this skill game you need to completely remove the red star using a BB gun.

carnival-star Very hard to beat, even for a good marksman. The trick is to shoot around the star, rather than trying to shoot out the star itself.

Complete the circle and the center of the paper will fall away taking the red star with it.

Also note that the barrels are often bent, and their marks not accurate. Within the first few shots it’s important to gauge just how far off the mark the gun shoots and adjust your aim accordingly.

Yahoo! Mail Beta Rollout Might take 6 Weeks for Some

 Direct from Yahoo! themselves…

Q) How can you tell if you are out of Beta?
A) If you are still unsure about whether or not you are actually out of beta, just take a look at the Yahoo! Mail logo in the upper left corner of the browser window. If the ‘BETA’ is gone, you have already been migrated over.

Q) If I’m still in Beta, when will I be switched?
A) We are in the process of rolling it out to everyone, but because of number of users it could be anywhere from this week, to as long as six weeks. We’re trying to get it done as quickly as possible, but there are a lot of servers so please be patient.

Wii the ‘Greenest’ of the Big Three Consoles

Don’t forget to visit my other blog The Fatty Cares for more environmental related news.

Wii The San Jose Mercury News’ Dean Takahashi recently measured various bits of tech around his house to find out how “green” they were, and discovered that of the big three consoles, the Wii has the tiniest carbon footprint.

Using a device called a Kill A Watt, Takahashi learned that the Wii consumes just 17 watts of energy, compared to the PS3’s 171 watts and his 360 Elite’s 194 watts. To give you a bit of perspective, Takahashi’s 42-inch plasma TV (drool) burned 200 watts and his fully loaded Gateway FX530 gaming rig consumed 266 watts.

The worst offender in the house? The toaster, by far, eating up a monstrous 866 watts. Find out how green your home is with this
