Google Ride Finder (beta), which I’ve been checking to see when they’d finally add New York City to it, is finally up and
running. Unfortunately, the NYC Taxi and Limousine Service haven’t updated their technology yet, but either way, I live in Manhattan, there’s always a taxi available. What is up and running is Elite Limousine and Super Shuttle. Possibly can detect traffic through the “Update Vehicles Location” button on the bottom?
